Healthy Chocolate Pudding // Valentine’s Day

V-Day is fast approaching and to be honest I have not always been a fan of the celebration, mainly because I grew up being told it was a sham holiday plus my parents never celebrated it. When I met William he was all for valentines day and it wasn’t until he explained that it was that one day of the year that he gets to spend a little extra on me and show me a little more how much he loves me (in the form of red roses) that I was on board. In all honesty, I get surprised with flowers every once in a while plus he makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world regularly so if Valentine’s Day didn’t exist, I would still feel pretty damn special.

Anyway, enough of the soppy love stuff and onto the chocolate pudding. This chocolate pudding is super simple to make, uber rich and delicious making it the perfect dessert if you’re wanting a healthier option for Valentine’s Day (or any other day to be honest). This pudding would also be great if you are having people over for dinner and don’t have much time to prepare dessert.

You will need:

1/3 C chia seeds

2 ripe avocados

3 small bananas

4 TBSP cacao powder

2TBSP maple syrup (the real deal, not ‘maple flavoured syrup’) if the mixture is still bitter to taste, add more 1 TBSP at a time to the mixture

1/4 plant milk – you can use oat, coconut, almond etc


Place all ingredients except chia seeds into a food processor and mix until everything is blended together. With a spatula, hand mix in the chia seeds and make sure you get them into all of the mixture. Once this is done, place into individual mini jars or bowls, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or more. Top with fresh berries, bananas or coconut cream and enjoy.
