It’s Christmas Eve and summer holidays have arrived! That makes it all sound really exciting however we’re not actually going anywhere, just staying at home this year as it is our first Christmas in Perth in five years. Oh how time flies. I have a little bit of time off work this year and I intend to make the most of it.
My album of choice this summer is going to be without a doubt Eminem’s new album, Revival. I downloaded it two days ago and obsessed is an understatement. There are so many great tracks on there and I cannot remember the last album where I liked most of the songs.
I have a rather long list of places I would like to go this summer to explore, make memories and take photos, just the usual. Yesterday I had a mooch around Freo, went to Coogee and ended up at Leighton Beach in North Fremantle. I have not been to Leighton in nine years and it’s still as beautiful as I remember – white squeaky sand, kite surfers, blue skies and baby waves, perfect for a walk in the water.
I have one week off this summer and was given The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck, by Mark Manson as an early Christmas gift. I had been looking for this book for months however each time I went to purchase it, the store had either sold out or did not stock it. I was stoked when I received this and cannot wait to put it into practice.
The first day of my summer holiday was incredible to say the least. I slept in, had smashed avocado for breakfast, hung out in Freo and found a cute little house with sunflowers growing on the opposite side of the road, went to a beach I used to frequent, listened to Eminem Revival on repeat and had mac n cheese for dinner. Happy Days.
Tomorrow is Christmas and I am SO excited about giving everyone their presents, talking to my Granny and stuffing my face with all the trimmings followed by an afternoon nap. What will you be doing for Christmas? Whatever you do, I hope it’s a merry one filled with family, friends, good food and delicious cocktails.
